COUNCILLOR ran fifth at only start at Turffontein, don’t dismiss. SAPPHIRE SUN ran fifth last start at Vaal on a soft track, sneaky chance.

RONDEBOSCH back from 33 week spell and placed last start at Turffontein on a soft track, outside hope. BJORN IRONSIDE won last start at Turffontein and down in distance, for the wider exotics.

CURTISS CONDOR drawn ideally and comes back to race in non-metro, could threaten. EIGER SANCTION has three placings from eight runs this prep and ran five lengths back from the winner last start at Vaal, still in this.

ACROSS THE POND has outstanding form at this track and has two placings from three runs this prep, don’t treat lightly. POPLAR PARK resumes from a 31 week spell and chased strongly to win last start at Turffontein, the real danger in the race. CEUTA has won twice at Vaal before, looks threatening.
